Bangkok / Hua Hin / Chumphon / Koh Tao / Koh Phangan / Koh Samui
Chiang Rai Airport → Chiang Rai City (12.3 km): 17 mins.
Our first day together is introductory, as it will begin with us welcoming you and picking you up at the Chiang Rai Airport, and our local guide taking you to sightsee at the incredibly impressive Doi Mae Salong mountain range.
We’ll conclude this day with a delicious dinner at your hotel in Katiliya.
BREAKFAST / LUNCH / DINNER
The second day begins after breakfast: we’ll drive you to the popular Golden Triangle, stopping at the small town of Mae Sai (which neighbors with Burma), giving you a chance to photograph the northernmost part of Thailand. Here you can expect to be amazed — an unbelievably beautiful outdoor market with stalls in every direction. The market is just at the convergence of the borders of Thailand and Burma.
Upon arriving at the Golden Triangle we will visit the Opium Hall (for its significant historical mark in this region). Then, we’ll transport you to the Wat Phra Pukhao temple to get an overview perspective of the Mekong River.
Lastly, we will take you back to your hotel where this evening you can enjoy an exquisite Thai dinner, served either indoors or in the crisp open air on the terrace, with an invigorating view of the rolling forest-covered hills.
BREAKFAST / LUNCH
Chiang Rai City → Chiang Mai (191 km): 3.5 hrs.
Our third day starts with an energizing breakfast at your hotel in Chiang Rai. Afterward, we transport you to the legendary Wat Rong Khun (White Temple), to take in the shimmering spectacle before leaving for Chiang Mai.
Following the comfortable road trip to Chiang Mai, you will savour a lunch in a local restaurant nerfore your transfer to your hotel so that you may check-in, freshen up, and explore Chiang Mai independently (or relax at the hotel, of course!). And, our guides would be happy to give you personalized suggestions, should you have any questions.
BREAKFAST / LUNCH
Chiang Mai → Elephant Jungle Sanctuary: 1.5 hrs.
Today we’ll pick you up after an early breakfast at your hotel. The destination? The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, where you’ll learn about the elephants being cared for at this facility, change into traditional Karen clothing, and be shown how to make medicine for the elephants in need.
Before you know it, you’ll be face-to-face with these majestic, gentle giants — feeding them and giving them medicine. You’ll be able to play with and care for these elephants in their natural environment as you learn of their significant role in the development of Thailand to what it is today. You’ll be drawn in by the playful nature of the elephants as well as the beautiful landscapes that surround you.
After meeting them, experience what a mud spa with a playful elephant is like, walking alongside them to the river to bathe them. (They typically end up being cleaner than you, so it’s a good idea to bring a change of clothes!)
We’ll have a delicious lunch at the Elephant Sanctuary before saying goodbye to them all one last time and returning towards Chiang Mai.
Next, we’ll bring you to the temple of Doi Suthep, also known as one of the biggest Buddhist temples in the north of Thailand, and also for its importance in the pilgrimage of the late 14th century. The marquee and unforgettable aspect of this place are the views you have at this altitude. At over 1,000 meters above sea level, this summit gives you astounding panoramic views of the city. You’ll also learn of the legend of the white elephant, as well as the aspects of a monk’s day-to-day life if you choose to sit down for a chat with one.
We’ll transport you back to Chiang Mai, where you’ll be able to have dinner at your leisure.
Chiang Mai Hotel → Chiang Mai Airport (13.2 km): 15 mins.
Our fifth and final day will be brief: your guide and private car will transport you from your hotel to the Chiang Mai airport.
