Phetchaburi is a gorgeous and historic location that has been inhabited for well over 1,000 years. Because of its strategic location atop the Malay Peninsula (and on the Gulf of Thailand) and it’s inherent protection from Myanmar (Burma) by the Bilauktuang Range, Phetchaburi has long been an integral part of the region. Given its long-standing importance, there are several historic buildings, temples, and palaces that attest to its importance by standing the test of time.

This full-day tour of Phetchaburi starts with a morning pick-up at your hotel in Hua Hin.
Once we’ve made it to Phetchaburi, we’ll start the tour with Tham Khao Yoi, a natural cave located on a hill. Inside the cave, we’ll find a 16-meter tall Buddha leaning over smaller statues. This is where King Rama IV meditates once he was ordained — although you’ll now find that the majority of its inhabitants are playful monkeys that will feed on fruits you give them (from shops in the area).
We’ll continue by moving onward to Tham Khao Luang, the most recognized and beautiful cave in Phetchaburi. This dramatically-lit cave is equipped with majestic, overhanging stalactites that, when combined with the hole in the middle of the cave through which the cave is lit, creates a one-of-a-kind scene that is just waiting to be seen and photographed. It also contains over 170 statues of Buddha and several chedis (stupas) that create a relaxing yet dramatic environment.
Once we’ve visited these two caves, we’ll be ready for the Thai lunch we have prepared for you. Then, we’ll continue to Phra Nahkoh Khiri Historical Park, one of the most well-known landmarks that contains “Palace Hill” within it (locally known as Khao Wang), a palace located on an almost 100-meter tall greenery-filled hill. You’ll also see the home of Wat Phra Kaew on the highest peak and Phra That Jom Petch on the middle peak, along with a 40-meter tall white pagoda with relics of Buddha on display. All of these are sites to behold.
Next, we’ll go on to Phra Ram Ratchaniwet, otherwise known as “Ban Puen Palace,” a European baroque and art palace that is located towards the south part of town. Through time, it’s become the official Historic and Arts Museum of Phetchaburi under the conservation of the Thai Royal Army.
Lastly, we’ll visit the Maruekhathaiyawan Palace, a summer seaside palace that is also known as “the palace of love and hope,” built on the golden teakwood of the wrecked Hat Chao Samran Palace.
We conclude this full-day tour of Phetchaburi with a trip back to your hotel in Hua Hin. This full-day tour is full exploration, culture, fun, and adventure — book with us today and let us handle everything so that you have an amazing holiday in Hua Hin!
